Job Description

LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a dedicated, patient, and student-centered Kindergarten Instructional Assistant to support the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily classroom activities, support students' academic and social-emotional development, and help establish a positive foundation for lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or at least 60 college credits preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year elementary classroom experience
• New Jersey Substitute Teacher's Certificate
• Experience and comfort working directly in an urban classroom setting
  
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with the implementation of the curriculum
• Assist students during transitions (lunch and recess)
• Assist teacher with recordkeeping and data (attendance, homework, etc.)
• Assists teacher with classroom management/monitoring
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Principal
  
  

Terms Of Employment

2026/2027 10-month contracted position

Salary Range: Starting at $30,000
