The Nursery Attendant provides attentive, nurturing childcare for infants through age four during worship, Sunday school, and occasional weekday events. This part-time position (approximately 0–5 hours per week) ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and families, reflecting the mission and values of Leander United Methodist Church as an inclusive and caring faith community. Typical scheduling windows include Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 12:30, Wednesday evenings during school semesters from 5:45 to 7:30, and other occasional evening offerings.
· Must be at least 18 years old
· Previous childcare experience preferred
· Hold and maintain current CPR & First Aid certifications
· Hold and maintain Safe Gatherings training & background checks
· Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds
· Supervises and ensures the safety and well-being of nursery children at all times campus during their shift
· Assists children in the restroom as needed, or change their diapers if not potty trained
· Helps maintain child records as needed
· Cleans used space and items at the end of shift (ex: rinsing paintbrushes, sweeping and mopping as needed, and take out the trash)
· Protects the shared space from damage and destruction
· Maintains a safe environment for children
· Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
· Maintains confidentiality regarding children, families, and church matters.
· Adheres to Leander UMC mission, policies, and procedures
· Performs other duties as assigned

This position will report directly to the Nursery Coordinator.

Expected hours: 0.1 – 5 per week
