Lean On Me Companions is seeking compassionate, reliable individuals to provide non-medical companionship to seniors experiencing early stages of memory loss or dementia in the Sarasota area.
This role focuses on meaningful engagement, conversation, and helping seniors remain active, independent, and socially connected.
Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation
- Engage clients in simple activities (walks, games, hobbies)
- Help maintain daily routines and structure
- Offer emotional support and encouragement
This is NOT a medical or hands-on care role.
Ideal candidates:
- Retired teachers, nurses, or caregivers
- Students in nursing, psychology, or social work
- Anyone patient, dependable, and genuinely caring
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to client homes in Sarasota and surrounding areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
