Summary
We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Solarco Operator to join our 2nd shift production crew. If you have experience in corrugated box manufacturing, understand flexographic printing, and enjoy hands-on, fast-paced work — this could be the perfect fit for you!
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the Solarco Boxmatic 25 (or similar) according to order specifications.
- Adjust feeders, guides, and print registration to maintain precise print and cut quality.
- Monitor production runs, inspect samples, and ensure every box meets customer specifications.
- Perform job changeovers efficiently — update parameters via touchscreen interface, verify job data, and confirm first-run quality.
- Input and update setup information, production counts, and quality data using the Encore PDE module.
- Collaborate with your assistant and supervisor to maintain production flow and minimize downtime.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and first-level maintenance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience operating converting equipment in a corrugated box plant (Solarco, Ward, Bobst, or similar).
- Understanding of flexographic printing and corrugated manufacturing processes.
- Strong basic math skills — comfortable calculating dimensions, board usage, and production counts.
- Comfortable with touchscreen data entry for machine setup and adjustments.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn advanced setup techniques.
- Ability to read job tickets, specifications, and production logs.
- Dependable, safety-minded, and a team player.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
