Duties
- Assist with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing to achieve smooth, level surfaces according to project specifications
- Set up and dismantle formwork using hand tools and power tools to shape concrete structures accurately
- Install rebar and metal reinforcement following schematics and blueprints to strengthen concrete elements
- Operate heavy equipment such as skidsteers and excavators safely and efficiently on-site
- Use hand tools like trowels, screeds, floats, caulking guns, and other finishing tools to create polished surfaces
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements for concrete placement and finishing details
- Perform heavy lifting tasks and support renovation or restoration projects involving masonry, stucco, or flooring installation
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of construction tools and equipment operation
- Construction estimating skills for planning material needs and project timelines
- Expertise in rebar installation, concrete forming, and finishing techniques
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings
- Experience with heavy equipment operation including cranes or forklifts is a plus
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines such as carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry, roofing, plastering, tile laying, and metal stud framing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during concrete finishing tasks
