League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the autism spectrum. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a MANAGER OF TEACHER DEVELOPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL LEARNING. Annual starting salary range is $70K - $85K.
Basic Function:
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Educational Strategy, the Manager of Teacher Development and Professional Learning is responsible for supporting the growth, development, and effectiveness of education across the school.
Position Requirements:
•Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
•MA licensure in Moderate Disabilities, Severe Disabilities, or a related area.
•MA Administrator License preferred.
•Minimum of three years’ experience working with autistic students or students with complex learning needs.
•Experience providing instructional coaching, teacher mentoring, or professional development preferred.
•CPR, First Aid, Safety Care
•Valid Driver’s License
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Training and Professional Learning
•Collaborate with educational and administrative teams to support program development and strategic initiatives.
•Develop, facilitate, and maintain professional development and training materials related to instruction, curriculum, assessment, classroom management, communication supports, IEP development, data collection, and evidence-based practices.
•Provide workshops, coaching, implementation support, summer training, and new staff orientation.
•Partner with leadership teams to identify professional learning needs and support implementation of schoolwide initiatives.
Teacher Mentorship and Coaching
•Meet regularly with new and developing educators through the school's mentorship program.
•Provide classroom observations, coaching, modeling, feedback, and consultation to strengthen instructional practices and teacher effectiveness.
•Support teachers in developing and implementing IEPs, Quarterly Progress Reports, Re-evaluation Reports, assessments, and data-based decision making.
•Assist teachers in implementing evidence-based practices, instructional systems, communication supports, behavior supports, and data collection systems.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support teacher growth, instructional quality, and student outcomes.
Classroom Environment and Management Support
•Support teachers in creating safe, structured, engaging, and student-centered learning environments.
•Provide coaching related to classroom organization, instructional routines, schedules, visual supports, work systems, transitions, reinforcement systems, and classroom management.
•Assist classroom teams in developing systems that increase student engagement, independence, consistency, and access to instruction.
•Collaborate with Educational Coordinators, BCBAs, clinicians, and classroom staff to identify and implement strategies that improve classroom functioning and learning environments.
•Support implementation of proactive behavior supports and evidence-based practices for autistic learners.
Teacher Licensure and Professional Growth
•Support teachers pursuing Massachusetts licensure through SG&S requirements, waiver programs, alternative pathways, and other approved routes.
•Monitor licensure progress, maintain certification records, and connect staff with appropriate resources.
•Collaborate with Educational Coordinators and supervisors to support IPDPs and individualized professional growth plans.
•Participate in teacher recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention efforts.
Curriculum, Assessment, and Instructional Support
•Collaborate with educational leadership and teachers to ensure curriculum, instructional resources, and learning platforms are accessible, evidence-based, and aligned with student needs.
•Provide training and coaching related to curriculum implementation and instructional best practices.
•Support curriculum review processes, implementation meetings, and ongoing instructional improvement efforts.
•Assist teachers in using assessment and student performance data to inform instruction and monitor progress.
•Support state assessment administration, including MCAS and MCAS-Alt requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educational leadership, clinical teams, residential leadership, and program administrators to support student success and program quality.
•Maintain a visible presence within classrooms and serve as a resource to teachers and instructional staff.
•Support implementation of the school's strategic plan and organizational priorities.
•Ensure services are delivered in a respectful, dignified, and person-centered manner.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Educational Strategy and Curriculum or Chief Operating Officer.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft Office software, and Google Suite.
