What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL & QUALITY ASSURANCE position at LEAGUE SCHOOL FOR AUTISM?
Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Clinical and Quality Assurance is responsible for the supervision of clinical practice and clinical supervision of social work/counseling staff in the program. She/he is also responsible to examine current program wide systems and develop/implement strategies that meet or exceed the licensing, accreditation, and industry standards. The Director is also responsible for the development and upkeep of program policy manuals and handbooks.
Position Requirements:
- 10 years’ experience in an Educational or Clinical setting with progressive Leadership responsibility.
- Master’s degree in Social Work or similar field with a license in Social Work or Counseling.
- Experience in development and implementation of training curricula and policy development.
- Ability to manage time and multiple projects within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Safety Care, CPR and First Aid certifications (will provide training)
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, web browsers, and other Microsoft Office software.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Primary Clinical Responsibilities
- Provides leadership to the Clinical and Nursing departments by identifying goals and leading continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provides consultation and oversight to all training from the Clinical and Nursing departments.
- Ensures clinical policies are consistent with the current regulations and that practice is consistent with the policy.
- Assists the Clinical Departments with completion of paperwork, as needed, including: BlueStep access, Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Clinical Summaries.
- Supervises and consults with the Clinical Staff (e.g., Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Clinicians) and Nurse Manager concerning the clinical aspects of the day and residential programs as well as coordination with other departments.
- Reviews and consults on assessments (assess for safety following suicidal/homicidal ideation/behavior, diagnostic) as needed.
- Participates in the intake screening of potential new students to League School as a member of the Admissions Committee.
- Primary Training Responsibilities
- Works with the Administrative, Educational, Clinical, Behavioral, and Residential team leaders and members to provide input regarding policy development and training as it relates to program development and implementation.
- Works with the multidisciplinary team to provide oversight to the internship programs and provides supports as needed to the mentors and interns.
- Ensures existing training meets applicable standards and regulatory agency mandates and/or increases staff knowledge and skills in identified areas for improvement.
- Reviews competency evaluations for trainings to ensure staff comprehension.
- Develops and implements a plan to train trainers.
- Primary QA Responsibilities
- Chairs weekly high-risk meeting.
- Develops a Quality Assurance Committee to review school-wide performance.
- Develops a set of review standards to meet the mission and vision of League School.
- Develops department goals and a plan to implement goals.
- Develops a plan to ensure review and follow up.
- Assists in the development of program handbooks and policy manuals to ensure there is consistency across the school and residence.
- Assist in the research and development of program policies school-wide.
- Develops a plan to train and roll out new policies as they are developed.
- Ensures policies are consistent with industry regulations and standards.
- Participates in school wide licensing and accreditation.
- Maintains and updates systems within the school and residence to ensure best practices.
- Coordinates with the Education, Allied Health, Residential and Leadership teams to develop and coordinate research opportunities.
- Coordinates with Leadership to identify and cultivate opportunities to partner with local universities and colleges on adult education, research, and internship opportunities.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of the electronic student record by attending development meetings and providing input and developing practices to maintain the fidelity of the records.
- Develops and implements a manager training program by coordinating internal and external resources.
- Additional Responsibilities
Works with the Administrative, Educational, Clinical, and Residential team leaders and members as a member of the Leadership team.
Works as a team player. Attends supervision, staff meetings, classroom meetings, program meetings, and annual review meetings, as necessary.
Participates in all trainings, as required by League School.
- Performs other related duties, as designated by the COO and/or CEO, that are deemed necessary for the operation of the school, such as evening trainings, Open House, etc.
- Attends Leadership and Management meetings as scheduled.
