The League of Human Dignity is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a full time Independent Living Advisor working out of our Council Bluffs Center for Independent Living. This individual will provide an array of services that assist people with disabilities to live independently in their homes and communities.
Services will include information and referral, peer mentoring services, advocacy, independent living skills training, and services that help people transition from nursing homes to independent living situations, or assist youth to transition from high school to further education, employment and/or independent living. Other services include financial benefits counseling, coordination of services, and a variety of other services that support people to lead independent lives.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have experience working with people with disabilities
A Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human development, education; or closely related human human services field. Or (4) years relevant full-time work or volunteer experience, or combination of relevant post-secondary education and paid or volunteer full time work experience.

- Verifiable knowledge and experience in use of computer hardware and various software programs
- Must be a team player

- Must be able to provide/coordinate own transportation
- This is NOT a work from home position
This position requires travel throughout the League's Council Bluffs service area, and you will need to provide your own means of transportation. The League will reimburse you on a per mile basis for your travel.
