LeafSpring School at McAlpine is seeking an energetic, dependable, and caring team member to serve in a unique dual-role position supporting our school community throughout the day. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well with children of all ages, and takes pride in keeping our school running smoothly.

As a Kitchen Aide / Bus Driver, you will play an essential role in providing nutritious meals and safely transporting children.

Schedule

Monday–Friday

Approximately 8:00-4:00 (schedule may vary based on school needs).

Primary Responsibilities

Morning Kitchen Aide

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks according to USDA and licensing guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Wash dishes and sanitize food preparation areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation.
• Assist with inventory and stocking food and kitchen supplies.
• Follow all food safety and health regulations.
  
  
  

Afternoon Bus Driver

• Safely transport school-age children to and from local schools.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure children are properly secured and supervised during transportation.
• Maintain accurate transportation attendance and required documentation.
• Follow all DOT, state licensing, and LeafSpring safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with families and school staff.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required bus driver certifications (CDL preferred but training may be available for qualified candidates).
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check (CBC), health screening, and all state-required clearances.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the day.
