In-Home Design Consultant Sales Representative

As an In-Home Design Consultant Sales Representative, you’ll help clients turn renovation and remodeling ideas into practical, well-designed spaces. You’ll assess their needs, recommend products and layouts, and guide each sale from the first conversation through deal closing. This role combines in-home and retail sales, design knowledge, and attentive customer service.

Duties

• Meet with clients in their homes or in a retail setting to understand project goals, discuss budgets, and recommend solutions aligned to customer wants and needs.
• Create and present layout concepts using tools based within an iPad, including several interactive programs.
• Build client relationships, communicate project details, negotiate, follow up, and close sales while identifying appropriate upselling opportunities.
• Maintain customer records in a customer relationship management (CRM) system; support merchandising, marketing, stocking, cashiering, and point-of-sale (POS) tasks as needed.
• Your impact: Thoughtful recommendations help clients make informed design choices and move their remodeling projects forward.

Qualifications

• Required: Strong sales, customer service, communication, organization, and client relationship-building skills; confidence with negotiation and closing sales.
• Preferred: Outside or inside sales, retail or construction sales, high-end sales, lighting or remodeling and fixture sales, or construction, renovation, maintenance, or remodeling experience.
• Preferred: Interior design, layout design, product demonstrations, Microsoft Office, and CRM system proficiency.
• Basic math, retail math, cash handling, cashiering, and merchandising skills are useful; multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Professional English communication and technical proficiency are needed to explain products and design recommendations clearly.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
