Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal to support our legal team on a remote, as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have experience with patents, trademarks, copyrights, and IP filings and be comfortable working independently while maintaining excellent communication with attorneys and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with intellectual property filings, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Conduct IP research and maintain accurate records of filings, deadlines, and status updates.
- Draft and prepare correspondence, forms, and legal documents related to intellectual property matters.
- Monitor and track IP deadlines, ensuring timely submissions with the USPTO and other relevant authorities.
- Assist in responding to office actions, oppositions, and other IP-related communications.
- Maintain organized electronic case files and databases for IP matters.
- Coordinate with clients, inventors, and outside counsel regarding IP filings and updates.
- Support general administrative tasks as needed within the legal team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a paralegal with intellectual property focus (patents, trademarks, copyrights).
- Strong understanding of USPTO and copyright office processes.
- Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent experience preferred.
