Front Desk Receptionist
Serves as the first point of contact for patients in a fast-paced physical therapy practice, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring efficient front office operations and accurate patient registration.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner.
• Verify patient demographics and perform comprehensive patient searches to prevent duplicate medical records.
• Register new and returning patients and maintain accurate information within the electronic medical record (EMR/EPM) system.
• Distribute required questionnaires, consent forms, and other documentation according to provider protocols.
• Verify insurance eligibility and ensure accurate entry of payment sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, Workers’ Compensation, liability, employer, agency, and legal cases.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments while following provider plan of care and maintaining efficient scheduling practices.
• Check patients in promptly and monitor patient flow, communicating delays and wait times courteously when providers were running behind schedule.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances in occordance with office policies.
• Balance and closed daily payment batches accurately and prepared deposits at the end of each business day.
• Answere a high-volume multi-line telephone system, assisting patients with appointments, referrals, and general inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and lobby area.
Required Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1 years’ experience within medical/insurance environment preferred; Medical terminology and/or knowledge in the medical field; 2-3 years of customer service
