Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Lead One of Dallas's Premier Labor & Delivery Teams!

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager to join a nationally recognized, 895 bed tertiary care hospital in Dallas, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced L&D nursing leader looking to advance their career in a high-volume, high-acuity women's services program.

The department supports 5,400 deliveries annually and features a specialized Placenta Accreta Program managing approximately 90 cases per year. The hospital has also earned recognition as one of the Best Places to Have a Baby for nine consecutive years.

Department Highlights

• 17 Labor, Delivery & Recovery (LDR) rooms
• 4 dedicated OB triage rooms
• 4 operating rooms
• 5,400 annual deliveries
• Advanced Placenta Accreta Program
• Approximately 120 FTEs shared between two Nurse Managers
• State-of-the-art technology and specialized maternal care services

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, staffing, and clinical performance within Labor & Delivery.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for nursing staff.
• Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered maternal and newborn care.
• Manage staffing resources, departmental budgets, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, quality standards, and departmental policies.
• Support bedside nursing operations during periods of high census or staffing needs.
• Drive continuous improvement in patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and clinical outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
• Active Texas RN license or multistate compact RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Labor & Delivery RN Supervisor experience.
• Candidates with 2 years of recent acute care L&D Charge Nurse experience will also be considered.
• Strong clinical competency in Labor & Delivery nursing.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required within 1 year of hire, unless previously completed.
