Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire Harness Builders to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembly, and testing wire harnesses for various applications. This role requires a strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret guides and blue prints.
Duties
- Design and develop wire harness layouts based on project specifications and requirements.
- Fabricate wire harnesses using various tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure precise dimensions in wire harness production.
- Interpret and create schematics for wiring diagrams to support engineering projects.
- Perform machining tasks as needed to support the assembly of wire harnesses.
- Implement surface mount technology in the development of electronic components within wire harnesses.
- Use an ohmmeter for testing electrical connections and ensuring proper functionality of wire harnesses.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate logic controllers into designs effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs, modifications, and testing results throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Reading Instructions: Interpreting work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials and assembly sequence.
- Material Selection: Choosing wires of specified color, marking, or length.
- Assembly: Routing and tying wires on a harness board, following color-coded lines or diagrams. This may involve using tools like tie-wrap guns, soldering irons, or crimping devices.
- Sealing and Protection: Applying sealing liquids or inserting cables into protective tubing to safeguard against dust and moisture.
- Testing: Conducting continuity tests to ensure proper wiring connections.
- Marking: Labeling completed harnesses for identification.
This role often requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish wire colors. It may also involve handling small parts.
Hours are 6:00am to 4:30pm with the possibility of 8 hours shifts on Fridays.
Pay: $15.00 hr.
