Position: Industrial Painter

Position Purpose: The Industrial Painter is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior surfaces of the facility by performing painting, minor drywall repairs, and applying protective coatings. This role ensures a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout the plant, supporting both production and facility maintenance goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.
- Works safely at all times.
- Work with 2-part epoxy paint and understand how to mix it.
- Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces of the facility including walls, ceilings, piping, structural steel, and equipment.
- Perform minor drywall repairs (taping, mudding, sanding, patching) as needed throughout the plant.
- Apply various coatings such as epoxy, enamel, and urethane using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory and organize paint supplies and tools.
- Mark safety lines, walkways, and designated zones per facility guidelines.
- Ensure all surfaces are properly prepped, cleaned, and protected prior to application.
- Work closely with maintenance and production to minimize disruption and complete tasks safely.
- Follow all OSHA, PPE, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively.
- All other duties as assigned by Leadec manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Communication Skills - Ability to communicate with all levels of Leadec and customer employees.

- Strong understanding of surface preparation and industrial paint/coating application techniques.
- Knowledge of drywall repair methods and finish textures.
- Ability to operate lifts, ladders, and spray equipment.
- Familiar with paint safety data sheets (SDS) and basic chemical handling.
- Ability to assess surface conditions and recommend appropriate materials or coatings.
- Basic troubleshooting of tools and minor equipment.
- Comfortable working in industrial and automotive manufacturing environments.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of industrial/commercial painting experience.
- Experience with handling drywall and installing drywall.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or automotive plant environment is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Forklift or aerial lift certification is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance tasks or inventory (optional depending on site).
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job:
- Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is high). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment.
- Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly.
- Prolonged standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working overhead.
- Ability to work in tight spaces or at heights (e.g., scissor lift, ladders)
- Exposure to paint fumes, dust, noise, and varying temperatures (PPE provided)
- Manual dexterity required for using tools, brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
