Position: Chemical Tech
Location: Denton, Texas

Department: North American Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.
- Works safely at all times.
- Maintain the chemical balance, waterflow, air filtration monitoring and other paint system related duties related to air permit requirements.
- Monitor, test and adjust paint booth chemical concentrations and balance per manufacturers specifications.
- Keep required maintenance log daily.
- Clean return water screens.
- Monitor booth water-flow, prime pumps or restore proper water-flow as necessary. (Some operations may require maintenance assistance).
- Clean screens before pumps.
- Monitor Palin unit bags, change as required.
- Monitor and test booth chemicals, levels, inventory, and adjust as required.
- Skim tanks in Palin Room
- Monitor hoppers and centrifuges and empty as necessary.
- Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.) as required for the task at hand.
- Training Needed:
- Forklift license
- Onsite Hazardous Waste Management training per CFR 265.16, CFR262.34
- Other training includes but not limited to lockout, confined space, PPE, hearing protection and Haz-com.
- Job specific training performed by Nalco and periodic refreshers.
- Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively.
- All other duties as assigned by Leadec manager.

Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical coursework in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing or chemical processing environment preferred.
- Technical training or prior experience in paint booth operations, industrial wastewater systems, or chemical handling.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job:
- Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial> setting (noise level is high). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; climb or balance; kneel, crawl, stoop, or crouch.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment.
- Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
- Must be able to withstand exposure to extreme heat or extreme cold weather for both inside and outside job tasks.
