Job Description
A General Laborer – Conveyor Installation assists with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and relocation of conveyor systems in industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. This role requires the safe use of hand and power tools, the ability to perform physically demanding work, and the willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- General Laborer – Conveyor Installation
- Assist with the installation, assembly, and alignment of conveyor systems and related equipment.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
- Use hand and power tools to cut, drill, bolt, and fasten conveyor components.
- Read and follow basic blueprints, installation drawings, and work instructions.
- Assist welders, millwrights, and lead installers during conveyor installation projects.
- Perform general labor duties, including lifting, carrying, cleaning, and preparing work areas.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other equipment when certified.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Inspect completed work for quality and report any issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Travel to customer locations and work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts as project schedules require.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction, industrial, warehouse, or conveyor installation experience is a plus.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required.
- Forklift, aerial lift, or OSHA certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work at heights for extended periods.
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas when required.
Preferred Skills:
- Mechanical assembly experience.
- Knowledge of conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
- Experience using impact wrenches, grinders, drills, and saws.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
