The ACC Member will play a key role in building energy, momentum, and collaboration around place-based partnership work in Frederick. Working closely with Centro Hispano staff, local stakeholders, and statewide partners, the Member will support ongoing community engagement, data collection, and strategy development efforts to inform a coordinated vision for the Golden Mile area and beyond.
This position is ideal for a bilingual (Spanish/English) individual who is passionate about community development, data-informed decision-making, and connecting people and ideas across sectors to strengthen rural and emerging communities.
Key Responsibilities:
The ACC Member will:
- Build and maintain community trust by engaging residents, partners, and organizations in authentic, ongoing relationships.
- Collaborate on the Frederick needs assessment and asset mapping, identifying community strengths and priority needs.
- Collect and organize community data, ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with local goals.
- Coordinate with community partners to identify and mobilize essential resources for residents.
- Synthesize existing research and reports related to place-based strategies and successful rural interventions.
- Connect with ACC Members and peers across states to exchange lessons learned and best practices in community development.
- Support communication and storytelling to highlight community progress and share success stories.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (required, due to community demographics).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage authentically across diverse communities.
- Experience or interest in community development, public service, or social impact work.
- Comfort with collecting, organizing, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative community data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, local leaders, and partner organizations.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
Service Term and Benefits:
This position is part of the American Connection Corps, an AmeriCorps program. Members serve full-time for 11 months and receive:
