Who We Are

The Newark Opportunity Youth Network (NOYN) is a mission-driven, equity-focused nonprofit dedicated to transforming outcomes for opportunity youth—young people ages 16 to 24 who are not in school and not working. With over 100,000 opportunity youth across New Jersey and a significant concentration in Newark, OYN leads bold, collaborative efforts to reimagine education and workforce pathways for young people who have been historically marginalized.

LEAD Charter School, a key initiative of OYN, is New Jersey’s first alternative public charter high school for opportunity youth ages 16–21. LEAD offers competency-based academics, career-connected learning, and holistic wraparound support in a student-centered, community-driven environment.
