Roles and Responsibilities
- Diagnose transmission problems using specialized diagnostic equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on automatic transmission systems
- Repair or replace damaged or worn-out transmission components
- Test drive vehicles to identify transmission issues and verify repairs
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of transmission systems
- Utilize technical manuals and schematics for repair procedures
- Perform fluid changes and flushes for transmission systems
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to resolve complex issues
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in transmission technology
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and offering maintenance advice
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean work environment
- Earn up to $50 per hour based on experience and performance
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification from a recognized automotive training program
- Previous experience working specifically with automatic transmissions
- Strong diagnostic skills using modern diagnostic equipment
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Good communication skills and customer service experience
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems
- Familiarity with automotive software and computer systems
- ASE certification in vehicle transmission systems
- Proficiency in using technical manuals and repair guides
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an automotive repair or mechanical training program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair
- Strong understanding of automatic transmission systems
- Ability to use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment
- Basic computer skills for diagnostic and repair software
- Valid and clean Driver’s record for the past two years
- Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
