Leaaf’s Environmental Assessment Division is looking to bring onboard a motivated Louisiana-licensed Professional Geologist (PG) or Engineer (PE) based out of our Gretna or Baton Rouge, LA offices. This position requires professional licensure (PG or PE) issued by the Louisiana Board of Professional Geoscientists or the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board.

Summary of the job:
This position offers a variety of work:
- Planning and implementation of environmental field work such as sample/data collection, monitoring well installation, groundwater monitoring, remediation system operation & maintenance, remedial action activities, and oversight of contractors and field staff
- Project coordination, management and leadership of various environmental assessment, remediation, and/or compliance projects including proposal development, maintenance of project scope, schedule, budget and quality through the coordination of project teams and via direct client communication and regulator liaison
- Participate in and lead project teams in the planning, design, and execution of various environmental compliance, due diligence, assessment, and/or remedial programs
- Support Leaaf’s existing clients with the implementation of cost-effective and innovative solutions to minimize their environmental risk
- Provide mentoring to entry-level and junior staff to support the development of the team’s technical skills
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Geology or Engineering
- Professional licensure (PG or PE) issued by the Louisiana Board of Professional Geoscientists or the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board; ability to obtain licenses in additional states
- 3 years of progressive environmental project experience including the coordination and management of projects consisting of site investigation, remediation and monitoring, and/or general environmental compliance
- Experience completing multi-media site investigation and remediation tasks
- Experience or interest in the preparation of technical reports including Site Investigation Reports, Annual Monitoring Reports, and Remedial Action Plans.
- Experience with Louisiana’s Risk Evaluation/Corrective Action Program is a plus
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout LA, MS, TX, AR, OK, NM and/or other south-central states to undertake field work when needed (estimated up to 30% of the time)
- Ability to work extended hours and travel out of town
- Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions, such as hot/cold temperatures, outside and around loud equipment, traversing rough terrains, and medically fit and approved to wear a respirator
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is required
