Surface Electrician

We are seeking a Surface Electrician for our operations near Brookwood, Alabama. We provide a generous compensation and benefits package, including incentive plans, 401(k), paid time off and company paid medical, dental and vision care.      About the Role:   As a Surface Electrician, you will perform various tasks related to electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair in or around preparation plants or associated surface work areas. The Surface Electrician will work closely with supervisors and other team members to maintain a safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.    Responsibilities:      Perform such tasks that may include installation of electrical and mechanical systems, wiring of fixtures or equipment as well as maintenance or repairs of mining related equipment. Troubleshooting preparation plant and other associated mining equipment Perform various preventive maintenance tasks. Perform various electrical inspections. Will be required to operate various hand tools and machinery. Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations. Preserves a safe and clean work environment by keeping trash cleaned up and practicing good housekeeping standards in their work areas. May be required to operate equipment on a temporary basis.  Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor. Who You are:   Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess MSHA electrical certification. Must be able to use electrical test instruments and ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Welding and/or cutting torch experience is preferred, but not required. Maintain good punctuality and attendance. Ability to work safely and effectively in an prep plant or other associated shop or mining environment. Must be able to communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good organizational, time management and multitasking skills. Environment and Safety      Ensure adherence to State, Federal and Company workplace policies and standard work procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.   Maintain a high level of Safety performance through effective communication, monitoring, and revision of standard work procedures.   Identify and report safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace.   Attend and participate in all scheduled safety meetings and training.   Ensure adherence to environmental policy, work standards, management plans and regulatory obligations and requirements.       Physical Requirements - Underground:     Must be able to stand for long periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces.    Must be able to sit for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles.    Must be able to walk for up to 4 hours at a time.    Will need to walk through different sections of the mine with different amounts of clearance and headroom.    Walking ability will be based on SCSR emergency evacuation plan required and approved by MSHA.   Must be able to wear the required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA.    Must be able to bend or stoop for a full work period because of varying work heights.    Must be able to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.   Must be able to do repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have quick reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination.   Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.   Must be able to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.    Warrior Met Coal is a leading producer and exporter of metallurgical coal for the global steel industry from underground mines located in Brookwood, Alabama, southwest of Birmingham and near Tuscaloosa.
