Management: Participates in the recruitment and selection process for medical providers. Performs clinical supervision of medical staff, including regular performance appraisals and provides feedback. Provides supervision of clinical scheduling, call and leave for medical staff. Provides supervision of continuing professional education, in-service training and orientation of new medical staff. Ensures integration of medical services into OFP’s overall comprehensive services. Advises on purchase of medical equipment. Leads planning for the development of new clinical programs. Provides counseling to the clinical staff. Facilitates medical staff/provider meetings. Supervises physician assistants and nurse practitioners in the OFP programs. Assists staff with treatment modalities pertinent to OFP patient populations. Reviews input from medical staff on their ideas and concerns with the VP of Medical Management. Oversee and maintain performance improvement processes for OFP as established by the health center, JCAHO, the federal government, and any other entities. Reviews results of patient satisfaction surveys Reviews patient complaints. Actively participates and supports all collaborative efforts throughout the office. Administrative: Development of standards and qualifications for medical personnel. Approval of medical practice procedures and policies. Provides ongoing clinical guidance and reports on clinical activities at the Medical Director’s meetings. Reviews clinical and patient care contracts for services provided by OFP. Performs periodic review of practice management functions. Serves as a liaison between medical staff and administration. Advises on schedules of fees (and related discounts for services to patients, as appropriate) to be charged for professional services rendered by OFP medical providers. Participates, in conjunction with the management team, in the overall budget planning and monitoring process; reviews the formulation and evaluation of project goals and budgets. Attends designated OFP meetings; represents OFP at local, state and federal level. Skills and Specifications At least 5 years’ experience working with indigent populations and community-based programs.
