Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America) Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their mental health status and diagnose psychiatric conditions. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, and referrals to other healthcare professionals. Medication Management: Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring effective treatment while managing side effects and interactions. Therapeutic Communication: Utilize strong communication skills to build therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Education and Advocacy: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies, while advocating for their needs within the healthcare system. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in mental health care. Required experience: Experience in behavioral health setting with strong knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders. Certification/Licensure: NYS Professional Registered Nurse license required. NYS Nurse Practitioner Certification required. Education requirements: MSN in Psychiatry & Mental Health required at a minimum. Computer/Equipment skills: Knowledge of electronic Medical Records Systems required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
