What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Crew Member, All-Electric Landscaping position at Lēʻahi Landscaping?
Lēʻahi Landscaping maintains properties with professional battery-powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers, which means less engine noise and exhaust on the job and a quieter day for you and the neighborhoods we work in. We are an established and growing startup building a new standard for landscaping in Hawaiʻi, and we are hiring experienced crew members who want to grow with us.
The position is full-time and year-round, paying $18.50 to $24 an hour based on your skills, with weekly pay, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. You will work on a crew of two to three from our Kāhala baseyard, caring for gardens at homes and commercial properties across Oʻahu. Some of these are among Oʻahu’s most beautiful high-end homes, so quality is a must: you will weed, edge, prune, and detail each property to a luxury standard using modern battery-powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers, plus hand tools. You will also learn to spot pests, plant problems, and irrigation leaks early, and you will help keep the gear clean and the batteries charged for the next day.
Medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental coverage begins the first of the month after your first four weeks. You are paid from clock-in to clock-out at the baseyard, including drive time between properties, with weekly pay through ProService Hawaii and overtime at 1.5 times your rate over 40 hours a week. You will have performance and wage reviews at one month and three months, and room to grow from crew member toward crew lead as we expand.
You will fit in here if you have at least two years of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience, are reliable and on time, and like learning new tools and better ways of working. The job is outdoors all day and includes lifting up to 50 lbs; we will consider reasonable accommodations.
