Duties
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners and
pick systems, ensuring all items are correctly selected according to order specifications. - Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other mechanical tools to load, unload, and move materials safely within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols outlined by OSHA regulations.
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting packages for damage or discrepancies, and documenting all movements in the warehouse management system.
- Handle materials with care during heavy lifting operations, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injuries or damage.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized warehouse environment by properly storing inventory on pallets or shelving units.
- Support warehouse supervisors in implementing safety procedures and operational improvements related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse distribution environment is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with order picking using RF scanners or warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, or pallet jacks is essential; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy machinery is required.
- Previous roles involving shipping & receiving, materials handling, or construction environments will be considered beneficial.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge or experience operating heavy equipment safely enhances your candidacy.
