About LDS Earth Stewardship
LDS Earth Stewardship is a non-profit organization united by the belief that earth stewardship is a gospel principle. LDSES educates, inspires, and acts for the purpose of exploring and promoting that principle.
Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, mission-driven Events & Social Media Manager to grow our digital presence, engage supporters, amplify our message, implement fundraising, and organize in-person events. This is a part-time role ideal for someone with a passion for environmental sustainability, collaborating with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and compelling storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Events
- Support Utah leaders in planning and administering in-person community service and educational events
- Work closely with leadership to ensure alignment with campaign goals, events, and advocacy efforts
- Post service projects on JustServe. Write and post Success Story content after the event
- Social Media
- Develop and execute a weekly content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Create engaging graphics, videos, and written content tailored to each platform.
- Support the efforts to develop and promote the LDSES podcast
- Engage in outreach with social media influencers to share LDSES' online content
- Monitor social trends and community news to keep our content timely and relevant
- Respond to comments, messages, and tags to foster an active and respectful online community
- Analyze engagement metrics and adjust strategy as needed
- Fundraising
- Engage in Recruiting sponsorships and cultivating relationships with large donors
- Grant writing
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience managing social media accounts, ideally for a church, nonprofit, campaign, or advocacy org, including experience handling online discourse & controversy.
- 1 years of experience planning and administering service projects and educational events
- Strong writing, visual storytelling, non-profit fundraising, and content creation skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools)
- Passion for environmental sustainability as presented in the theology and scripture of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
- Familiarity with Northern Utah’s political, media, religious, and cultural landscape
- Self-starter with excellent judgment, communication, and time management skills
