Reporting to the Senior Plant Engineer, this position performs a variety of work in general maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and building. The position requires a valid Iowa driver’s license, along with a good driving record. This position will perform work to keep machines, mechanical equipment, and the structure of the establishment in repair.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit LDJ’s core values and culture in all aspects of the job.
- General maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and buildings.
- Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, servo controllers, and safety circuits.
- Effectively use a variety of hand & power tools and operate a forklift.
- Understand and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Proficient at reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Perform basic plumbing and carpentry work.
- Run conduit and pull wire.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
- Ability to use testing equipment.
- Knowledge of safety practices such as lockout/tagout and proper PPE.
- Excellent troubleshooting, reasoning, analytical problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, oral and written along with time management and organizational skills.
- HVAC knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of PLC’s and electrical principles a plus.
Education and Experience:
- 2-year degree or equivalent and/or 3 years’ experience in a related field.
