Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Diapers, toilets, and turns residents every two (2) hours and other times as required.
- Assist with simple screening procedures.
- Assist with improving clients' skill levels and on-campus jobs as assigned by the Supervisor to promote independence.
- Facilitate residents with activities, including recreational activities, to achieve their individual goals and objectives.
- Instruct clients in all areas of active treatment programming throughout the facility where required, to assist residents in achieving their most independent outcome.
- Positions and transfers residents in and out of wheelchairs, walkers, at the table, in the whirlpool and shower trolley, in bed, for toileting, swimming pool, beauty shop chair, and assuring resident safety at all times by adhering to policy on lifting and transferring.
- Assist residents with general housekeeping duties (cleanliness, bed making, washing, and preparing meals according to meal plans and suggestions)
- Bathes and feeds residents and assists in the general care of the instructed.
- Assist with shopping for clients, ride the bus, and assist with transferring and securing residents.
- Push the resident's wheelchair for daily activities, holiday parades, and facility plays, etc.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of the Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center.
Work Schedule: Will be required to work 8, 10, 12, or 16-hour shifts; shifts will be determined based on facility needs.
Compensation: Special Entrance Rate(SER): Residential Services Specialist 1 $972.00, Residential Services Specialist 2 $1,040.00, Residential Services Specialist 3 $1,190.80
In addition, this position has the following premium pays:
$1.00 - 0 months to less than 6 months
$1.50 - 6 months to less than 3 years
$2.00 - 3 years to less than 5 years
$2.50 - 5 years or greater
Shift Differential (for actual hours worked):
$0.90 - 2nd shift evenings 2 pm-10:30 pm
$0.50 - 3rd shift nights 10 pm-6:30 am
$0.50 - All shifts weekend/Holidays
Market Conditions (for actual hours worked):
$1.50
