Job Description and Profile

The Telecom/EV CAD Technician II works as a member of the telecom design team to perform drafting and plan preparation of engineering documents of the highest quality. These documents will consist of complete and accurate work plans, detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches and/or notes from architects/engineers/PM’s. 

 

Reports to: Director of Telecom with direct supervision from CAD Lead.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with CAD Lead to help maintain workload and meet deadlines.
  • Provide support to CAD Lead and other Project Managers and/or Engineers/Architect by preparing documents under deadline.
  • Incorporate redlines into existing drawings.
  • Prepare Telecom lease exhibits, zoning and construction sets for submittals.
  • Clean up drawings to company standards, plot/scan drawings and create portable document format (PDF’s).
  • Research public agency information:
    • Utilities
    • Research files
    • Drawings and maps for relative information
    • Check assessor’s information
    • Survey maps and parcel information (GIS)
  • Modify and update AutoCAD standards per CAD Lead.
  • Convert sketches into AutoCAD drawings.
  • Execute projects from start to finish:
    • Preparing
    • Working with Architect/Engineer and co-workers
    • Sketching
    • Completing drawings
      • Survey clean-up
      • 1A site location (if services needed by Survey)
      • Drafting of lease exhibits/zoning/UCR/construction sets
      • Structural (if services needed by Structural)
      • Rendering
      • Plotting/printing

 

Skills and Specifications

  • Intermediate working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Beginning to Intermediate skills with Adobe products.
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • Acrobat
  • Possess understanding of telecom plan sets; lease exhibits, photosims, UCR, zoning and construction.
  • Intermediate skills with workings of Microsoft Office
    • Outlook
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Access

Education, Experience, Qualifications

  • Associates degree or technical certification in a relevant field such as architectural, engineering, surveying or construction management, or experience considered sufficient to address the demands of the position.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience utilizing CAD with increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in telecom and/or EV field.



Physical Considerations

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone and calculator.
  • Ability to perform repetitive, finer hand and arm movements.
  • Work activities involve the combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.

Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
