What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permanent Substitute position at LCJVS High School?
Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.
SALARY:
Per placement on the Ohio Department of Education's minimum salary schedule
REPORTS TO:
Principal
BENEFITS:
Sick leave – maximum of 15 days per year
Personal leave – maximum of 3 days per year

WORK WEEK/YEAR:
As per Board-adopted calendar
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ohio Dept. of Education Teaching/Substitute Teaching License (or the ability to obtain)
- Proven ability to work with multiple levels of personnel including administrators, counselors, teachers, parents, and high school students
- Proven technology related skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a changing environment
- Team player – willingness to work effectively in a team environment
- Desire to motivate and assist young people in setting educational, social and behavioral goals
- Ability to work with students having a wide range of abilities and skill levels
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Sincere interest and commitment to work with students, parents, staff, businesses, community organizations and associate schools
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Verified previous teaching experience
- Strong teaching related skills
- Ability to develop curriculum, knowledge of instructional techniques
