Penny Meadows, Head Start Director, is advertising to fill a position vacancy.
Position: Behavioral Assistant
Location: Central Office
Cookeville, Tennessee

The salary is: Associate’s: $17.76 per hour, 8 hours per day
Bachelor’s: $19.84 per hour, 8 hours per day
Job Qualifications:
Requirements:
1. Proof of an associate’s degree, at a minimum, preferably psychology or early childhood
2. education
3. Strong leadership abilities are necessary to manage the disability unit for a large government agency.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work with public agencies, Head Start parents, children, staff, and the community.
5. Willingness to learn Agency Policies & Procedures and follow Head Start requirements.
6. Ability to pass physical examination prior to beginning work and every year thereafter.
7. Possess a valid Driver’s License.
8. Furnish own transportation to travel within designated service area.
9. Must complete satisfactory criminal background check prior to hire and as required thereafter.
10. Drug testing as required.
11. Resume submitted with job application.
Preferred:
1. Three years of experience working in Head Start/Child Care Program.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
3. Possess supervisory, management, organizational, training and planning skills.
4. Experience working with challenging behaviors, and/or groups from low-income, community service, or non-profit.
