Baker / Bagel Roller
We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking, and passionate Baker / Bagel Roller to join our small, scratch-made bakery team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who genuinely loves working with dough and takes pride in making things from scratch. Our days start early, and our products are made by hand — from mixing and shaping dough to boiling, baking, frying, filling, and finishing.
The right person is comfortable working in a small, fast-paced kitchen, can work independently, stays organized under pressure, and cares about consistency and quality.
What You’ll Do
- Mix, portion, shape, proof, boil, and bake bagels
- Prepare and work with a variety of doughs, including bagels, sourdough, and donuts
- Hand-roll and shape bagels with consistency and attention to detail
- Prepare, proof, fry, fill, and finish donuts
- Follow recipes and production methods accurately
- Measure and scale ingredients precisely
- Monitor dough fermentation, proofing, and baking times
- Operate mixers, ovens, fryers, scales, and other bakery equipment safely
- Maintain consistent size, shape, texture, and appearance across all products
- Assist with daily prep and production to ensure the shop is ready for service
- Keep the kitchen, equipment, and workstations clean and organized throughout the day
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Help with packaging and organizing products for daily service
- Jump in wherever needed during busy production periods
What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional baking or kitchen experience preferred
- Experience working with bagels or naturally leavened dough is a major plus
- Comfortable working with yeast doughs and fermentation
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Able to work efficiently and stay organized in a small kitchen
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and doing repetitive physical work
- Able to lift and carry bags of flour and other ingredients
- Reliable and punctual — especially important for early-morning shifts
- Able to follow recipes while understanding the feel and development of dough
- Comfortable working independently as well as as part of a small team
- Food safety knowledge is a plus
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
The Schedule
This is an early-morning bakery position. Our production begins before the doors open, so being comfortable with early starts is essential.
Experience matters, but attitude matters just as much. We’re looking for someone who cares about the craft, takes pride in what they make, and wants to be part of a small team where everyone plays an important role.
