GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Primary responsibility is to effectively perform cashier related functions while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Maintain a friendly and professional environment by greeting and acknowledging every customer and co-worker that approaches. Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities on a daily basis. Effectively communicate customer service issues and requests to management.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: Handle cash, checks, credit cards and financing; count till (cash) bags at the beginning and end of each shift, verifying that all transactions were done correctly and till balances at the end of each shift; maintain the front office appearance by keeping everything neat and clean; file the daily invoices; call the bank on all out of state checks and temporary checks to verify that the checks will clear; call the finance company to verify information on customers account (balance due, account balance, available credit); copy and match all MBF finance approvals; process special orders and handwritten tickets; take account payments for fabric checkouts or other misc. payments. Perform any other duties as directed by management.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Ability to repetitively use arms, hands and fingers; computer experience required; basic mathematical skills required; attention to detail; ability to communicate effectively and positively with internal and external customers; knowledge of employment and safety procedures.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Heavy Work: Lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally.
Work Environment: Indoor climate controlled environment.
