What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworker/laborer position at Lazy SW Ranch, LLC?
Cattle operations begin in January, when cattle are turned out to desert pasture for grazing through May. During this time, workers will check and repair fences, clean and maintain buildings, perform grounds maintenance including mowing, weedeating, and general cleanup, and wash and repair equipment, buildings, and implements. Workers will also haul water and feed for cattle as needed. In June, July, and August, workers will continue to monitor cattle condition—checking for wounds, performing vaccinations, medicating, and providing general care. Supplemental feeding may be required depending on forage availability. During September and October, workers will assist with gathering and sorting cattle for shipment or sale to market. Duties may include weighing, tagging, loading cattle, and performing general maintenance and cleanup of pens, corrals, and equipment used during marketing. Workers may also help prepare facilities and equipment for the upcoming season by completing repairs, servicing vehicles, and maintaining ranch infrastructure. Workers may be asked to work weekends when needed. During peak work periods, employees can expect to work 70 hours or more per week.
