Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape installation, including planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and installing hardscape features such as patios and walkways
- Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, and fertilizing to maintain healthy turf
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks like digging, planting, pruning, and general maintenance
- Support irrigation system installation and repairs to ensure proper watering of landscapes
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities including tree trimming, pruning, mulching, and seasonal snow plowing
- Maintain cleanliness of work sites by removing debris and ensuring equipment is stored properly after use
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects involving excavation equipment like excavators and other heavy machinery
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment and tools
- Experience or familiarity with lawn care, gardening, or landscape maintenance preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery safely and effectively
- Knowledge of horticulture practices including plant care and tree trimming techniques
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy materials as needed
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards at all times
- Prior experience in landscaping or construction is a plus but not required; training will be provided for motivated learners
