New part-time Shelter Ops Staff (16-24.5 hours per week)
Lazarus House is an emergency shelter for those experiencing homelessness and is located downtown Saint Charles, IL. We are a 24/7 program that serves people in need of a safe place to stay. We provide shelter, meals, showers, laundry, case management, as well as educational and employment classes to all who enter our doors.
We are in need of several people to join the Operations Team for these different areas:
- Emergency Shelter: Sun 2:30p-10:30p & Fri 2:30-10:30p
- Women & Children's Shelter: Tues 2p-10p, Sat 2p-10p, Sun 6:30a-2p
Flexibility to take other open shifts as needed appreciated.
Eligible for PTO benefits based on agreed hours per week.
General responsibilities are:
· Ensure safety and support of our guests & volunteers, showing empathy & compassion.
· Assist guests in acclimating to and following house guidelines.
· Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with guests.
· Help maintain the daily routine of the shelter including meal prep, answering phones, etc.
· Maintain a clean environment.
· Foster rapport with donors & volunteers.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, squat, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 lbs.
· Positivity a must!
· Social service background a plus!
