Position Description : Maintenance Machine Technician
The Maintenance Machining Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, machining, and improving complex manufacturing and facility equipment in regulated and high-precision environments. This role supports continuous production by troubleshooting advanced mechanical systems, fabricating custom components, maintaining facility infrastructure, and serving as a technical resource for maintenance best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Primary Duties:
- Maintain and repair production equipment used in advanced manufacturing, including custom machinery
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems to minimize downtime
- Perform precision machining of replacement parts using lathes, mills, grinders, and fabrication tools
- Install, relocate, align, and commission production equipment to support manufacturing operations
- Perform and document preventive maintenance in regulated manufacturing environments
- Support reliability initiatives through root cause analysis, equipment rebuilds, and process improvements
- Assist in developing and updating maintenance procedures, calibration instructions, and equipment documentation
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC units, cooling towers, compressors, and general building systems
- Perform facility repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work
- Support plant safety initiatives including lockout/tagout and equipment guarding
- Assist with training and mentoring maintenance technicians
- Support spare parts inventory management and maintenance planning systems (CMMS)
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
- 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environments
- Strong hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments
- CNC setup or programming experience
- Writing and maintaining maintenance procedures and documentation
- Reliability or continuous improvement experience
- Welding or advanced fabrication skills
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent credentials.
