Position Summary
The Donation Pick Up Driver plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Lawton Food Bank by safely transporting donated food and supplies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting daily warehouse operations. This position serves as a representative of our organization in the community, building positive relationships with retail partners and ensuring donations are handled with care and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation
- Safely operate food bank trucks for daily donation pickups
- Visit retail partner locations to collect donated food and supplies
- Greet and thank store personnel for their partnership and donations
- Pick up food drive donations from community locations
- Conduct daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections
- Report vehicle maintenance needs or concerns to the Warehouse Manager
Warehouse Operations & Documentation
- Weigh and record all collected donations from retail partners and food drives
- Accurately enter donation weights into the online tracking system
- Unload, sort, and organize incoming donations
- Prepare food for distribution
- Engage volunteers in a positive, mission-centered manner
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Lawton Food Bank mission
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a box truck
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong attention to detail and basic data entry skills
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with partners and volunteers
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in driving, delivery, warehouse, or logistics
- Familiarity with food handling
Work Environment
- Combination of driving, outdoor, and warehouse work
- Regular lifting, bending, and standing
- Work in varying weather conditions during pickups
