Job Description:
Lawson Event Rentals is looking for a dependable, physically capable Seasonal Operations Lead and Delivery Driver to join our team now through the end of May 2026. This is a hands-on role. You will drive box trucks, deliver and install event rental equipment (tables, chairs, linens, lighting, tents), manage small crews at venue sites, and communicate directly with clients. If you like staying active, working outdoors, seeing amazing DFW event venues, and being part of a team that makes events happen, this is a great fit. Spring is a busy season, and we need someone who can step in, learn fast, and handle the pace. We will train you on our systems and processes.
This is a seasonal position with the opportunity for long-term consideration. Strong performers will be first in line when we expand the team for our fall busy season.
What You Will Do:
- Drive box trucks to deliver, install, and strike (tear down) event rental equipment at venues across the DFW area.
- Lead a small crew on-site: assign tasks, manage the install/strike plan, and keep the team on schedule.
- Communicate with clients at the venue: confirm setup details, walk through diagrams, answer questions, and get sign-off.
- Inspect and handle equipment properly: load, secure, transport, install, and return items to the warehouse in good condition.
- Conduct pre-trip truck safety inspections and follow all driving safety protocols
- Complete end-of-route procedures: return equipment, restock the truck, and document any issues.
- Track your pace throughout the day and communicate with the team if the schedule shifts.
What We Are Looking For:
- Reliable transportation to get to the warehouse (within 30 minutes).
- Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record (you will drive company trucks, including box trucks with liftgates).
- Physically able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly, work on your feet for extended periods, and handle outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong work ethic and punctuality ("if you are on time, you are late" is how we operate).
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written) with solid reading comprehension. You will read setup diagrams, client instructions, and safety protocols daily.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while also thinking on your feet when things change at a venue.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Bonus Qualifications (Not Required):
- Experience driving box trucks or large vehicles
- Previous work in event rentals, catering, moving, logistics, or construction
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience leading or managing a small team
- Currently enrolled in college and looking for meaningful seasonal work that pays well
