We have a great opportunity available for someone interested. One of our long standing OR nurses has decided to retire, which leaves a void on our team. She will be greatly missed but we are so excited for her to experience the best years of her life! That being said we do need to find her replacement.
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team in a Circulator role. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care during surgical procedures and ensure a safe and sterile environment in the operating room. Scrub experience is a plus!

Responsibilities:
- Provide communication between team members in the surgical field and persons outside the operating room to include initiation of Time-Out and Safety Checklists.
- Obtain needed supplies and equipment for each specific procedure.
- Arrange room for specific operative procedure.
- Assists anesthesia provider in transporting patient from holding area to operating room then back to holding area after the procedure.
- Provide Surgical Scrub with any additional needed supplies.
- Assist anesthesia provider during anesthesia induction and crucial periods during the operative procedure.
- Performs sponge and needle count with the Scrub before and after procedure.
- Start intravenous lines in accordance with Lawrence Surgery Center standards.
- Maintain knowledge of drugs used and is able to administer drugs safely and accurately whenever required to do so.
- Position or assists the surgeon in positioning patient appropriately.
- Connect cautery, suctions, and any other pertinent equipment and positions sponge buckets for the scrub nurse.
- Completes operative record.
- Anticipate needs of surgical team and supply’s needed items to sterile field.
- Receive faulty instruments from Scrub and mark appropriately.
- Prepare as much as possible for following case by checking supplies, doctor’s preference cards, instruments, and any additional equipment.
- Apply tape to dressing and make certain patient is clean before leaving operating room.
- Assist with extubation when necessary.
- Rotate sterile supplies and removes outdated items.
- Assist in room turnover.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license and BLS certification
- Previous experience in acute care or surgical settings preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology relevant to the Operating Room
Job Types: Full-time, PRN
Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
