Lawrence School seeks an Accountant to begin January 5, 2026, upon the retirement of the current Accountant. Lawrence School is looking for an individual of outstanding character whose attention to detail, organization, and accounting skills match the school’s culture and mission. The next Accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Business Department Specialist, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of daily and monthly accounting functions.
This position is responsible for key operational duties, including preparing monthly financial statements, managing tuition receivables and accounts payable, and supporting the annual budget and grant reconciliation processes. The Accountant also serves as a member of the Financial Aid Committee, assists with athletic and extracurricular budget tracking, and provides essential backup support for the Business Department Specialist in areas such as payroll and benefits. The successful candidate will be proficient with accounting software and dedicated to supporting the overall financial health and success of the school.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Accounting, bookkeeping and/or recordkeeping experience
- Payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Sage (or similar) accounting software
