Position Summary

To serve the students and staff attractive, nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Following daily instruction of kitchen functions.
• Maintaining serving stations and kitchen prep areas.
• Utilizing a team approach.
• Reporting problems and concerns to Head Cook
• Cleaning and sanitizing in a safe manner.
• Maintaining stockrooms and rotating stock.
• Following kitchen procedures.
• Preparing food according to Head Cook's instruction.
• Making production adjustments.
• Presenting food in a manner which enhances the final product.
• Determining the finished product is the best quality.
• Verifying portion sizes.
• Maintaining the serving line.
• Maintaining Point of Sale accountability by daily tracking.
• Retaining proper cash accountability.
• Submitting information in a timely manner.
• Serving proper portion sizes.
• Interacting with a positive manner demeanor.
• Maintaining accurate daily production records.
• Maintaining Point of Sale accountability and completing FP-9 reports daily.
• Maintaining accurate monthly inventory reports.
• Retaining proper cash accountability and completing bank transactions.
• Submitting information and required reports in a timely manner.
• Use of effective communication and support of the head cook.
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding security, reports, plans, programs, etc.
• Pursuing my own Professional Development.
• Maintains current knowledge of new developments in procedures, techniques, nutrition, equipment, and supplies.
• Performing other responsibilities as necessary.
• Handling crises appropriately.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Demonstrates knowledge of the methods and procedures involved in the preparing and serving of meals in a cafeteria.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow oral and written directives.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills
• Possess ability to do heavy lifting.
• Proficient in English
