What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper School Chemistry Teacher (Gr. 11-12) position at Lawrence High School?
LHS Upper School is in search of a certified physics teacher. This position uses the College Board Pre-AP Chemistry curriculum and is a combination of content knowledge and laboratory skills (collecting and analyzing data). This engaging and rigorous curriculum prepares students for college and career, while bringing joy and excitement to their learning. This is a collaborative position, where science teachers work together to build/analyze data/revise their curriculum and instructional knowledge as a team. This position provides room for career growth, community partnerships, and leadership opportunities. Initial onboarding and training will be provided prior to entering the classroom.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 5 sections of rigorously planned high school Science– may include but not limited to Chemistry and/or Physics and possible Advanced Placement courses
- Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the MA Curriculum Frameworks
- Implement common assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
- Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform instruction
- Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with Special Education and ESL teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
- Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices.
- Communicate weekly with students and families around academic and behavioral progress.
