Position Summary:
UNIDOS Academy at Lawrence High School serves students transitioning from a variety of public and private middle schools in the City of Lawrence. We recognize the importance of the early high school years as a pivotal point for a successful academic and extracurricular experience.
We are seeking exceptional English Teachers to join our team—educators who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and believe that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Teach five sections of English
• Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
• Implement common assessments to measure progress toward academic standards
• Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform and adapt instruction
• Meet weekly with grade-level content and interdisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with Special Education and ESL staff to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
• Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve practice
• Serve as an advisor to a group of 8–15 students
• Communicate weekly with students and families regarding academic and behavioral progress
• Contribute to school culture and support school-wide events and expectations
• Uphold high expectations for student achievement and behavior

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in English, Grades 8–12
• SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required
• Passing scores on the Communication and Literacy Skills test and relevant subject matter knowledge tests
• At least two years of experience teaching in a similar setting preferred
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Pay Range
• $56415-$84,063
