Interventionist / Academic Tutor (Emergency Hire) Lawrence Family Public Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Interventionist/Academic Tutor to join our team for a short-term maternity leave coverage position. This is an exciting opportunity to gain meaningful classroom experience while making an immediate impact on the academic success of our youngest learners in PreK and Kindergarten. Position Summary: The Interventionist will provide targeted academic support through push-in and pull-out intervention services for PreK and (mostly) Kindergarten students across multiple content areas. Instruction will be delivered in both one-on-one and small-group settings, helping students build foundational literacy and mathematics skills while supporting classroom instruction. There will also be one 55 minute whole class lesson (Special) each day. In addition, the position will require coverage if needed and duties (lunch/recess and morning/afternoon/bus). Position Details: Start Date: August 18, 2026 Expected End Date: October 14, 2026 (dates may be adjusted based on district needs) Daily Rate: $285 per day Benefits: This is a long-term substitute position and does not include benefits. Future Opportunities: While this position is temporary, Lawrence Public Schools frequently hires from within. Candidates who are a strong fit for LFPA and demonstrate success in this role may be considered for future long-term or permanent opportunities as they become available. Instructional Responsibilities: -Provide targeted intervention in 1:1 and small-group settings (approximately 45-minute intervention blocks). -Deliver one daily whole-group lesson (approximately 55 minutes). -Support students using evidence-based instructional programs, including: -Fundations -UFLI Foundations -Amplify CKLA Knowledge -Eureka Math -Children Discovering Justice -Amplify Science -UFLI -Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, interventionists, specialists, paras and school leadership to ensure students receive high-quality instructional support. -Use data on an ongoing basis to drive instruction.
