Job Title: Telecommunicator I (Full Time Position)

Starting Pay: $24.80 – $27.41 (Depending on Experience)
Work Schedule: Hours will vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Position Overview:
We seek a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team as a 911 Telecommunicator. This vital role involves receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate emergency services, and providing support and information to the public in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive emergency calls from the public and assess the nature and priority of the situation.
- Dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of calls, actions taken, and services dispatched.
- Monitor radio communications and maintain contact with field personnel.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers when necessary (e.g., CPR).
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training to remain current on policies, procedures, and technologies.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional communications or emergency services education is a plus.
- Experience in a call center or emergency response environment is preferred but not required.
- Certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and/or 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator is preferred but not required upon hire.
- Proficiency in using computer-aided dispatch software and radio systems preferred.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
