LCSS is seeking a highly qualified and mission-driven Principal to lead the Ingram Sowell Elementary School community. The ideal candidate will bring strong instructional leadership, a proven record of academic turnaround, and a deep commitment to serving students in economically disadvantaged communities.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
- Tennessee Licensure
- Valid TN Administrative Licensure (ILL or ILL-P)
- Multiple years of successful administrative experience as a Principal or AP required
- Demonstrated experience leading academic turnaround initiatives
- Proven success working in economically disadvantaged or high-needs school communities
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and data-driven instructional practices
- Required Submission: Candidates must submit a Strategic School Improvement Plan outlining their proposed vision, priorities, and specific actions to improve student achievement, school culture, and operational effectiveness.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a positive school culture grounded in high expectations, equity, and accountability
- Experience supporting and developing teachers through instructional coaching and targeted professional development
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead change and manage school operations effectively
- Experience engaging families, staff, and community stakeholders to support student success
- Demonstrated success in improving attendance and school climate
- Proven record of academic turnaround, including raising student achievement and closing achievement gaps
- Demonstrated leadership in supporting diverse learners, including English learners, students with disabilities, and students from varied socioeconomic backgrounds
