A "Team Member" at a landscape company is responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks to maintain and enhance outdoor spaces, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, weeding flower beds, planting new vegetation, and operating landscaping equipment, all while working collaboratively as part of a crew to complete projects on client properties according to company standards and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lawn Maintenance: Regularly mow, edge, and trim lawns using commercial mowers, trimmers, and edgers.
- Plant Care: Weed, prune, and deadhead plants in flower beds and shrubbery.
- Planting and Installation: Assist with planting new trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants as needed.
- Mulching and Debris Removal: Apply mulch to plant beds, rake leaves, and collect debris from work sites.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate a variety of landscaping equipment including blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and power tools.
- Site Preparation: Dig trenches, level ground, and prepare areas for new installations.
- Clean-up: Maintain a clean work area by removing debris and properly storing tools.
- Customer Service: Interact with clients in a professional manner, addressing any concerns regarding landscaping services.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Precision needed to operate power tools and hand tools safely.
- Basic Plant Knowledge: Understanding of plant identification and proper care practices.
