Duties
- Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and pruning to keep lawns and landscaped areas neat and healthy
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain irrigation systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper watering schedules
- Identify plants, trees, shrubs, and pests to support healthy landscape growth
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers following safety protocols to protect plants and the environment
- Execute hardscape projects such as planting beds, pathways, or retaining walls as needed
- Conduct regular inspections of outdoor spaces to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools
- Experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, and tree care techniques
- Ability to identify various plants, pests, and irrigation components with confidence
- Knowledge of pesticide management and safety protocol adherence
- Hands-on outdoor work experience with grounds maintenance or landscaping projects
- Familiarity with hardscape installation and snow plowing during winter months
